We are so honored and glad you are about to take this step! It takes great courage, insight, and love to reach out for support. All inquiries for therapeutic services can be emailed to mbaker@cascadepsychotherapy.com to set up a time for phone consultation. A free 20-minute phone consultation will be scheduled to find the right fit for you. We will try to honor all requests. Once it is established that Cascade Psychotherapy is the right fit, you will be sent a link to our electronic health system to fill out relevant paperwork along with a link for telehealth sessions. In the case that Cascade Psychotherapy is not the right fit or not currently taking clients, a list of available clinicians will be provided to you.
Session cost is determined based off of time. An intake session costs $200. This is the first session and typically includes going over relevant paperwork, initial assessment, and goals for therapy. An average 53-minute session is $175. In some cases, clients may find they are needing a shorter session, in which case a 45-minute session is $150. Clients are seen on a weekly basis. Currently, we do not have any sliding scale openings.
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. This means cancellation within 24 hours of the session time or no-shows are automatically charged a full 53-minute session fee, with the exception of extenuating circumstances. Insurance does not cover this fee. It is your responsibility to cancel or reschedule session in a timely manner. This ensures hours of availability are accurately reflected to all clients.
Currently, we are credentialed and contracted with Aetna plans, Premera plans, and First Choice Health plans in the state of Washington. We are not credentialed or contracted with insurance in the state of Georgia. Please check with your insurance provider to understand your benefits and if/how psychotherapy is covered. While it is our goal to provide as clear and concise information as possible, your insurance provider determines how sessions are covered and therefore you are ultimately responsible for understanding your benefits and communicating with your insurance provider. Payment going toward a deductible or copay is required up front and at the time of service. As a contracted clinician, we are not paid by your insurance until your claims are processed. It is possible there will be changes to your deductible or copay once your claims are processed. It is your responsibility to understand your insurance provider's explanation of benefits and to manage any communications with your insurance provider.
In some cases, we may be considered an out of network provider. If you would like to use your insurance and we are not in network, a super bill or detailed invoice can be provided to you to submit to your insurance provider for full or partial reimbursement. This is determined by your insurance provider and your communication with your insurance provider is required for reimbursement. Full session payment is required up front and at the time of service.
Cascade Psychotherapy specializes in meeting with adult clients who are seeking individual or group outpatient therapy services. Some common topics in session are women+ specific issues, LGBTQIA+ specific issues, religious trauma and harm survivors, existential concerns, adjustment disorder, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Mary Ann has been working extensively with clients who have experienced religious harm since 2016 and has been trained in cognitive processing therapy, ego state therapy, and is currently in training for EMDR. Mary Ann practices from a consent-informed lens. This means honoring bodily, emotional, psychological, and spiritual consent above the "productivity" of any given session. In order to have lasting effects from therapy, an authentic understanding and vocalization of consent is the groundwork for healing, as trauma is often experienced too fast and too largely for one to consent. The single goal that Mary Ann holds as a clinician for her clients is to increase internal wisdom.
Hours are by appointment only. Not equipped to work with someone experiencing crisis mental health symptoms. Not available to case manage or oversee medication management. If you are experiencing a crisis, please call 211 in Washington or the National Suicide and Crisis Line at 988.
